Outside of California, the Mai Tai name usually refers to a Sativa-dominant cross between Maui Waui and Tutti Frutti, with intense THC levels. However, LA-based Jungle Boys also have an Indica-dominant (80%) version that’s very different, a combination of their Sunset Sherbet and Purple Punch strains.
Be sure you get the right one: the OG Mai Tai has outrageous levels of THC, testing over 32% in some samples. This comes along with a bundle of terpenes that spew out sweet tropical and tangy jungle aromas. Fresh fruit, damp earth, bright flowers, and an overall sweetness make it reminiscent of the cocktail from where it got its name.
Minty green nugs, flecked with pinks and purples, adorned with golden pistils, remind you of a sweet drink on the beach. The high is just as lively, with many people saying it’s the perfect way to start the day. Short, simple tasks will feel like an ocean breeze, melting away feelings of depression, fatigue, chronic pain and stress.
