CBD Oil VS Hemp Oil – What’s the Difference?

Cannabis oil, more so known as CBD or cannabinoid oil is the new inside ingredient when it comes to skincare. Nowadays, you can find the hyped oil that is extracted from the hemp plant in everything from primers to shampoos, conditioners, skin creams, ointments, and much more. But what is the difference between CBD oil and hemp seed oil?

What is the difference between hemp seed oil and CBD oil?

Hemp seed oil is the oil extracted from the seeds of the cannabis Sativa plant and does not contain THC. CBD oil, in turn, is extracted from the plant parts of the hemp plant and may contain hundreds of different cannabinoids, such as tetrahydrocannabinol, abbreviated THC. THC is the substance that accounts for most of the “high” if you smoke cannabis and have nothing to do with skincare.

The CBD oil is considered to reduce inflammation, counteract acne, give glow and be absolutely fantastic, but on closer examination, it is usually the hemp seed oil that is stuffed into the products and not the expensive CBD oil. In many countries, products with CBD oils are sold openly in stores. The “controversy” in countries where marijuana is illegal around CBD oil is that it is extracted from a drug-inducing plant and can therefore be involuntarily drawn into the mystery surrounding drugs.

What can CBD oil do for the skin that other oils cannot?

The oil is promoted as anti-inflammatory, soothing and can reduce the skin’s fat production. There are lots of other ingredients in cosmetics that are also attributed to similar functions. Using CDB oil to achieve the same effects can be expensive and risky.

What is Cannabis?

Marijuana in plant form and hashish in resin form is the psychoactive drug that is extracted from plants in the plant genus cannabis for medicinal or recreational purposes. Of a total of 483 known active components in cannabis, the largest is tetrahydrocannabinol THC, which provides a high.

At least 84 are other cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN), tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV). The term medical cannabis refers to the cannabis prescribed by doctors, which is allowed in Canada, Belgium, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and 31 US states. In 2018, cannabis was also legalized in South Africa and Canada.

Differences between hemp oil and CBD oil

Hemp is a plant with two main cultures: industrial hemp and cannabis. Industrial hemp contains no more than 0.3% THC (the intoxicating component of marijuana), according to federal law.

CBD or cannabidiol, on the other hand, is one of many active cannabinoids identified in the cannabis plant, but unlike THC, it is not psychoactive. Hemp oil has been legalized for consumption in all 50 states as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC levels.

Hemp oil can be used in cooking or applied topically, but CBD oil must be made from cannabis flowers or leaves that are heated so that the cannabinoids are separated from other plant materials.

After this process, the manufacturers decarboxylate (heat) the product to convert CBDa to CBD. The only difference between hemp and CBD oils is how they are made. If you want hemp oil, look for products labeled with “hemp seed oil” If you prefer CBD oil, look for products labeled with “CBD extract” or “cannabidiol” Hemp seed oil can also be found online at Amazon.

Are hemp oil and CBD oil the same thing?

Not really, but from a basic perspective, yes. They are quite similar. They can both be used for topical application or for cooking. However, they must be made from cannabis flowers or leaves that have been heated so that their cannabinoids can be separated from other plant material, and then the manufacturers will decarboxylate (heat) it to convert CBDa to CBD. The only difference between hemp oils and CBD oils is how they are made. If you want hemp oil, look for products labeled with “hemp seed oil”, if you prefer CBD oil, look for products labeled with “CBD extract” or “cannabidiol”

Summary

Hemp oil and CBD oil are basically the same things, but hemp oil is less potent than CBD oil. They can be used for cooking or topical application, but CBD oils must be made from cannabis flowers or leaves by heating so that the cannabinoids are separated from other plant material.

After this process, the manufacturers decarboxylate (heat) the product to convert CBDa to CBD. The only difference between hemp and CBD oils is how they are made.
